John 5:39–40 – “These are the Scriptures that testify about me, yet you refuse to come to me to have life.”
The entire purpose of the Scriptures is to reveal Jesus Christ. The reason He came is simple: life—and in that life, everything exists and is sustained.
2 Timothy 3:15–16 reminds us that the ultimate purpose of the Bible is salvation, and this salvation is found only in Christ.
This is why the Bible is unlike any other book. Its message is singular, uncommon, and eternal. It is the greatest and most inspirational book ever given to man.
God’s Original Intention
When God created the world, it was perfect—no sickness, no disease, no hunger, no lack (Genesis 1:31). The troubles we see today—pain, suffering, and death—came because of sin. This broken world is not God’s norm.
Death means the absence of life. Every form of corruption entered through sin, for “the wages of sin is death” (Romans 6:23). But from the beginning, God had already provided the solution: Christ.
The Problem is Sin, The Solution is Christ
All through Scripture, we see the effect of sin and God’s promise of redemption. Israel’s bondage in Egypt was a picture of mankind’s slavery to sin. Just as He delivered them, Christ delivers us.
- Romans 5:12 – Death came through sin, but Christ brings life.
- Genesis 3:14–15 – From the fall of man, God promised a Savior—the Seed who would crush the serpent’s head.
- 1 Peter 1:18–20 – Every prophecy points to Christ.
The central message of the Bible is this: every man needs Christ.
Salvation is Through Christ Alone
No matter how good, religious, or generous a person may be, salvation only comes through Christ. Cornelius gave alms and prayed, yet God still sent Peter to preach Christ to him (Acts 10).
- Romans 1:16–17 – The gospel is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes.
- John 10:9–10 – Jesus came that we might have life, and life more abundantly.
- Colossians 1:13 – In Christ, we are rescued from the power of darkness and restored to God’s original purpose.
In Him, we are healed, delivered, reconciled, and made whole.
Our New Life in Christ
Through Christ’s finished work:
- We are no longer under the control of sin or the devil.
- We are seated with Him in heavenly places (Ephesians 2:4–10).
- We are made the righteousness of God (Romans 8:3).
- We now live by grace, restored to God’s family.
The message of the Bible is Christ—from beginning to end. Without Him, we are lost. In Him, we have life, salvation, and everything we need.
Christ is the solution to every problem. Christ is the message of the Bible. Christ is life.
