Thanks be to God for another opportunity to fellowship with like-minded believers. Throughout this month, we’ll be exploring the theme “The Winning Edge”. What does it mean to have the winning edge, and what advantage is there for anyone born of God?
If we are indeed born of God, should there be a difference between a man born again and a man who is not born again? The answer is yes.
Romans 5:5 & 17 emphasize that through the sacrifice of God in Christ, believers have The Winning Edge. The abundance of grace and the gift of righteousness ensure that we reign in life.
Romans 5:5,17 – And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love. For the sin of this one man, Adam, caused death to rule over many. But even greater is God’s wonderful grace and his gift of righteousness, for all who receive it will live in triumph over sin and death through this one man, Jesus Christ.
2 Corinthians 5:17 states that if any man is in Christ, he is a new creation, and old things have passed away. Believers are no longer foreigners or strangers but fellow citizens with God’s people. We are members of the household of God.
Being in Christ gives us an advantage, a winning edge. Ephesians 2:19 confirms that we are no longer foreigners but members of God’s household, and Ephesians 5:30 highlights that we are members of His body.
Ephesians 2:19 – So now you Gentiles are no longer strangers and foreigners. You are citizens along with all of God’s holy people. You are members of God’s family.
God has moved us from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of His dear Son. The believer has a winning advantage, and this month, we want to explore how what God has done in Christ makes a difference in every area of our lives.
2 Corinthians 2:14 declares, “Thanks be to God, who always causes us to triumph in Christ.” It’s not a sometimes victory; it’s always a victory. Even in the Old Testament, 2 Samuel 8:6 – David was victorious everywhere he went. The Lord made King David victorious everywhere he went. As believers, we are committed to living an all-around victorious life.
When challenges come, like the Red Sea for the Israelites, fear not. God has put a difference between the believer and the world. God causes us to triumph always, and with the power within us, we can overcome any obstacle.
The story of the Red Sea emphasizes the importance of taking charge. God moved the cloud, creating a gap between the Israelites and the Egyptians. Similarly, Christ in us creates a gap between us and our challenges.
When facing challenges, don’t let fear grip you. God has given us the winning edge and we must use our words, our faith, to overcome. Just as Moses used his rod to part the Red Sea, we must use the Word of God to make power available.
The believer’s advantage is real. We are not ordinary; we are born again with Christ’s blood flowing through our veins. We are surrounded by the arms of our Father, and our freedom is in singing praises to Him.
In conclusion, fear not, for you are a child of God. Take charge, speak to your situations, and move forward with the power and force of Heaven backing you up. You are more than a conqueror through Christ who loves you. Launch out, try great things and remember that with God, all things are possible. Praise the Lord for The Winning Edge in Christ! Amen
