Romans 11:33:
“Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable His judgments, and His paths beyond tracing out!”
This scripture reminds us that God’s ways are far above our understanding. The way He works and carries out His plans cannot be fully understood by the human mind. We know that God has a plan, but how He brings that plan to pass is often hidden from us. Because of this, we must learn how to walk with God even when we do not fully understand what He is doing.
Understanding the Mystery of God’s Ways
Ecclesiastes 3:11 says:
“He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end.”
This shows us that no one can see the whole picture of what God is doing. We do not know what tomorrow will bring. We cannot clearly see ten, twenty, or thirty years ahead. We cannot predict how everything in our lives will turn out. Only God sees the beginning and the end. If this is true, then how do we walk with God when we cannot fully understand His ways?
The Reality of Life’s Uncertainty
Life brings many questions: What will become of me? How will I move from where I am now to where I need to be? What does the future hold? What will happen to my family?
These questions feel stronger during difficult seasons or times of change. When nothing seems clear, it is normal to feel worried. Many people struggle not only because of what they are facing, but because they do not know how things will end.
God does not show us everything at once. He alone sees the full picture.
Learning to Trust the God Who Knows
1 Corinthians 2:9 says:
“No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love Him.”
This gives us two simple truths:God has a plan for our lives, even if we cannot see it and
His plan is good.
We must settle this in our hearts. God knows what He is doing, and His plans for us are good.
Unlike people or systems that may fail, God is always faithful. If He is leading our lives, we can trust Him to complete what He has started.
Trusting God in the Unknown
We trust many things without knowing all the details. When you board a plane, you do not know the pilot personally. You do not know everything about the aircraft. Yet you trust the journey.
If we can trust people in uncertain situations, how much more should we trust God? We may not know what tomorrow holds, but we know who holds tomorrow.
Walking by Faith, Not by Sight
The believer is called to walk by faith, not by sight. This means learning to be at peace even when we do not have all the answers. It means believing that God’s choice not to reveal everything is for our good.
There are things that, if shown too early, might overwhelm or discourage us. In His wisdom, God reveals things step by step. Faith is trusting God even when there is no clear explanation.
Biblical Example: Joseph
Joseph’s life shows how God works in ways we may not understand.
God gave him a dream about his future, but He did not show him the full journey. Joseph did not know he would face betrayal, slavery, and prison. Yet each stage of his life was part of God’s plan. What looked painful at the time was leading to something greater.
Practical Ways to Walk with God
Even though we do not know the future, there are things we can do as we follow God.
1. Give Your Best Today
Colossians 3:23 says:
“Whatever you do, do it heartily, as unto the Lord.”
You may not control tomorrow, but you can control what you do today. Be diligent, Be committed, and do your work with excellence.
What you do now connects to your future, even if you do not yet see how.
2. Value Relationships
God often works through people.
Be kind, Be approachable and Treat everyone with respect.
Galatians 6:9 reminds us not to grow tired of doing good, because in due time there will be a harvest. The people in your life today may play a part in your future.
3. Live a Life of Prayer
Philippians 4:6 teaches us to bring everything to God in prayer.
Even when you are unsure what to ask for, commit your future to Him. Trust Him with what you cannot understand.
4. Speak Words of Faith
The Bible teaches that our words carry power.
As believers, we should speak in line with God’s promises, not just our current situation.
Speak life, Speak hope and Speak faith. Your words influence your direction.
5. Rely on the Holy Spirit
There are times when we do not know what to pray. In those moments, we depend on the Holy Spirit to help us pray according to God’s will.
Even when we do not fully understand what God is doing, He guides us as we pray.
6. Stand Firm
After you have done all you can, stand firm.
Ephesians 6 teaches us that after doing everything, we must continue to stand.
There may be seasons when nothing seems to change. In those moments:
Do not give up, Do not lose hope and Remain steady.
Hebrews 10:23 says:
“Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.”
Conclusion
God does not work according to human timing. He works according to His perfect timing.
Sometimes answers come quickly. At other times they take longer than we expect. But one truth remains: He makes everything beautiful in its time. Our part is to trust Him, walk by faith, and remain steady. Give your life fully to God. When you place your life in His hands, He is faithful to care for you. Even when you do not understand the journey, you can trust the One who leads you.
