Significance – Creating and Mastering Your Space

Everyone born of God is significant.
You carry God’s treasure within you, something more precious than gold. While we may strive to succeed in this world, not everyone will “make it” by worldly standards. Yet, that is of little consequence because we possess something far weightier—eternity.

When we consider what God has prepared for us, we realize it is extraordinary: a life of abundance where all things work together for good.

Isaiah 60:1 Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you.

The believer rises above because the light of God has come. People may live without purpose, but the believer is significant.

Isaiah 60:15 The coming of Jesus Christ ushered in a dispensation of believers who are extraordinary, no longer ordinary.

Isaiah 60:22 The least of you will become a thousand, the smallest a mighty nation. I am the Lord; in its time I will do this swiftly. 

God’s purpose for believers is for them to be significant wherever they are—a group to be reckoned with.

When you know God, you must recognise yourself as being like Him. You have the capacity to do the same things He does.

1 John 4:17 This is how love is made complete among us so that we will have confidence on the day of judgment: In this world we are like Jesus.

2 Corinthians 3:18 And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.

Significance means imitating God.
Believers live and act differently. A spiritual person cannot be easily predicted because their life follows the pattern of the Spirit. Our design and approach to life are distinct.

We acknowledge God as the Creator and Master of the universe. By studying His pattern of creation, we gain insight into how we, too, should create.

The Divine Pattern of Creation

Based on Genesis 1:1-3:

  1. The Spirit of the Lord moved:
    In the midst of chaos, the Spirit of the Lord was exerting influence and making power available. God had clarity about what He was going to do. Similarly, when you face difficult situations, bring God’s power into action through prayer, worship, and speaking in tongues. These actions cause the Spirit to hover over your circumstances, preparing you to act.
    • Ephesians 3:20 Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us.
      The richness of our thoughts and prayers brings beauty out of chaos or emptiness.
    • Isaiah 65:24 Before they call I will answer; while they are still speaking I will hear.
      Our imagination, when aligned with God’s will, becomes a form of prayer.
  2. God began to create by speaking:
    All things were spoken into existence.
    • Genesis 1:26-27 Then God said, ‘Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness…’ So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.
    • John 1:1-3 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.
    • Hebrews 11:3 By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God’s command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible.

God speaks things that are not as though they were (Romans 4:17). In the same way, believers create by speaking with the move of the Spirit.

Words Carry Power

  • Proverbs 12:14 From the fruit of their lips people are filled with good things, and the work of their hands brings them reward.
  • James 3:2 We all stumble in many ways. Anyone who is never at fault in what they say is perfect, able to keep their whole body in check.
    A person’s life moves in the direction of their tongue. For believers, this principle becomes even more powerful when applied spiritually.

In Genesis 1, God’s command, “Let there be,” brought creation into existence. In John 1, this command was replaced by the Word, Jesus Christ. Believers don’t merely speak positive words—they speak Jesus.

  • 1 Corinthians 2:12-13 What we have received is not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may understand what God has freely given us. This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in words taught by the Spirit, explaining spiritual realities with Spirit-taught words.

Spirit-taught words carry divine power. In prayer, the Spirit provides the precise words to declare over any situation.

How to Operate Spiritually in Creation

  1. Pray: Pray in tongues to operate on the Spirit’s frequency.
  2. Worship: Connect with God and align yourself with His will.
  3. Fast: Dedicate time to focus on God’s power.
  4. Speak: Declare God’s Word over situations.

Hebrews 1:3 (AMP) He is the sole expression of God’s glory…sustaining and propelling all things by His powerful word.
The Word not only creates but also sustains.

Mastering Your Space

Do not leave anything to chance. Take charge by speaking God’s Word over your domain.

  • 2 Corinthians 10:3-5 For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds.
    Mastering your space means exercising spiritual authority. Declare God’s promises over your family, business, and every aspect of your life.

Conclusion

Do not leave things to chance. Create and master your space by the Word of God. As we give ourselves to speaking God’s Word into every situation, things will change for His glory.
